Please Touch Museum, PA

This past Sat Kenn, B, my SIL Teresa & niece Olivia all squeezed into 1 car
at 7:30am and went to Philadelphia to the childrens museum together.

I originally went to this museum as a child myself with my Mother & Grandmother.
(Although located in a different place in Philly at that point)

This is the front of the museum.
Memorial hall is one of Fairmount Park's most recognizable landmarks and the only major building left from the 1876 Centennial Exposition.
It served as the city's art museum until 1928 and was dedicated by president Ulysses S. Grant.

B in front of the Pegasus statue.

The first area we played at was the car area...
It had several cars (fake and real) kids could play with

It also had this excavator that b really liked.

Next we went to the "Space" area.
It had a lot of hand and foot cranking machines.
(there are feathers inside of this and when you turn the handle they float)

This is b's 2nd favorite thing of the day.
He's turning a wheel crank and a ball is going up the conveyor (on the right)
after it reaches the top it falls and spins down the winding track.
He did this for like 10mins straight. He didn't want to stop.
Next was the shopping area.
It was REALLY neat. It was basically a mini grocery store.
All the kids got shopping carts and had a ball.
The next section of the museum had different careers rooms.
Hospital, McDonalds, Post Office, Shoe store, Brick area?
well that's the area Brandon played in. hehe
I overheard another parent saying
"all the parents want there kids to play in the Dr area" haha

Next we went to the Alice in Wonderland area

THIS is B's favorite part. Throwing the croquet ball through the cards.

Below is a picture of the next area the "Water Zone"
(BTW I'm making up all these area names...)

Brandon & Olivia

Olivia the crazy duck hoarder.

B playing on the big "BIG" piano

The last play area was the "Tree" area.

We then had snacks and went on the carousel.
B didn't really want to get on at first but then after he did he loved it.

This is about how excited Kenn looked all day...
Loving Sister & Brother :)

We had lunch at the museum which was surprisingly inexpensive and not bad.
We also went to the gift shop (for once not my idea ha!)
And this is B with his football that he picked out.

B and Diego on Diego's first Road Trip being sweet

& this is my my son normally

Olivia being sweet as always.

Oh I didn't mention i was smooshed between the two car seats hehe.
so these pictures are from that view.

Lastly this is a picture of B and I next to the elephant that I remember
seeing and having my picture next too as a child at the old museum.

We ate lunch outside and it was beautiful out!
Drove home and had a mellow evening.
We really had a blast and can't wait to go back in the fall with my Mom :)

One Track Mind

At school they often ask the children a question and let each one finish it
and they post it on the wall... some examples of brandon's comments

We're going to disney world what do you see? A basketball net
What should you bring to disney world? A basketball

Your in a hot air balloon what do you see? Grandruss playing golf

A spider sits down next to you what do you do? Go inside and play basketball in my room

It's spring, what does that mean? Rain is falling, Inch worms come out. Frisbee

he's done a ton more like this but these are the only ones i remember
off the top of my head. 99% of them are sports related.

We also had to have the talk yesterday about
"we don't tackle our friends without asking first"

Speaking of sports, we went to build-a-bear for a birthday party sat
and he's kind of funny with stuffed animals.
he doesn't really like them but after i get them home he comes
around eventually. (most of the time)
So i get there and tell him he needs to pick out a toy, he picks up the green army
camo bear. He doesn't want to touch it though. I tell him he has to hold it
and after a few minutes he starts to hug it and hold it
(I'm guessing b/c his friends are doing it)
They all are told to pick out names for their friends.
B is HORRIBLE with naming thing. its always the obvious "bear, turtle, doggie"
so i started throwing out names for him and he picked Diego.
so they get in line and stuff it, then wash it off and brush it. (they loved this part)
then he got to pick out things to dress it with. well immediately he finds
the little set of golf clubs. that's all he wants.
I showed him all the different clothing (mostly girly) and he wants
the WMBA basketball one. SOoooo i kindly show him the ravens uniform
and he's fine with that. (i wasnt sure how to get away with the WNBA one)
He held his bear the rest of the party and has been almost inseparable since.
He likes to make him flip in the air or hold him over top of the stairs
and say "oh no he's falling" and then flip him up in the air and catch him to save him.
I tried to get a pic on Sunday but he didn't want any part of it. I'll get one soon though :)

Ok ok so i know this is what 4 weeks late?
I've been slacking for sure... plus our internet has been weird. no excuse though.
Here's some pics from that lovely weekend :)

since i only got 1 cookie from b's birthday party i decided to make some more sugar cookies.
I already am craving them again...

Here's a pic of our newly landscaped yard thanks to kenn :)

Happy Easter :)

He loved the chocolate!

looking for easter eggs around the house

using his new watering can that he HAD to have. (before Church)

swinging on his new Easter Swing

New favorite pic of the 3 of us seconds before we left for church
we actually ordered a canvas from a discount site my cousin gave me.

Otherwise we've had a lot going on, my mothers birthday, going to the park every weekend since the weather has been fantastic. Both Kenn and I have had a lot of work things going on.
Today B and I went to BuildABear for a birthday party and he is really attached to his new bear. i need to get a pic of it tomorrow. (he's sleeping with it now)

Peter Rabbit

Each mall has their own Easter bunny, and while a large rabbit is scary enough I don't particularly love the big white furry ones.
That is why every year we go to Marley Station b/c they have Peter Rabbit!
(I think B also finds him less intimidating)
I took him last Sat (kenn chose not to participate)
I first showed him pictures of him last year w/ the bunny, which he loved.
Then I told him if he was good we could play at the mall playground.
(it was kind of yucky & rainy off and on that day)
we went to the mall and luckily it wasn't a very long line. I could tell he was a little nervous but i kept pointing out things around him to look at. (like the huge Easter eggs and the elevator)
Then it was our turn and as soon as we walked up to the bunny he grabbed my leg to hide behind it.
I reminded him we could go to the playground, that wasn't working as well up close...
Then the woman taking the picture grabbed the Easter egg and i told him to hold it like a football
so he was willing to sit next to him to let us take the picture.

He did really good! We went over to the playground after and he decided he didn't like it so we went to subway and got a choc. chip cookie and went home to play outside instead.
