May 24th

May has always has special meaning to me....
It is not only Kenn's Birthday but my parents wedding anniversary.
This year its there 35th!

(BTW my Grandmother made my Mothers Wedding dress)

This year they got to celebrate in style in Hawaii and I am so happy b/c
I don't know a more deserving couple!
(well maybe my aunt and uncle b/c they went for their anniversary too!)

My parents have shown me the real meaning of marriage by example,
and I pray that Kenn and I can live up to that standard.
(so far i think we're doing pretty good!)

The three of us love you more then I can ever put down in words
& can't wait to see you!

And you can tell everybody that this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that its done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind, that i put down in words
How wonderful life is with you in the world.

*one my parents wedding songs (and ours too!)

Birthday Extravaganza weekend!

Last weekend was Kenn's Birthday Extravaganza!
It started with a party on sat at the park.
It called for rain all week so i stressed a little, and although the AM
was cloudy by the time it was noon it was beautiful out!

(BTW all the pictures are from my wonderful MIL!
I hardly had time to eat let alone take pics)

We did a pot luck party instead of presents and everyone brought yummy food!
We were so stuffed, kenn didn't eat the rest of the night.

They also had a fab. little playground directly next to our pavilion so the kids could all play
as we watched them. (we also brought a large assortment of sports equipment)

B and Aunt Gail

Death By Chocolate Cake from Annette!

That night Aunt Gail was awesome enough to keep the special weekend going.
She kept b overnight and all Sunday so we went out to dinner with
Kenn's best friend & his wife and then Sunday she bought us tickets to Busch Gardens.
I drove Kenn and Juli (and made amazing time)
Sharon and Carl met us there and in the afternoon Matt & his g/f met up with us.
Once again it called for rain and even looked like it a few times,
but we lucked out and it only rained at the end of the day.
So we went into an Irish pub to kill time.
We got to ride every rollercoaster twice and the one below 3x.
The last & only time we went to an amusement park together (besides Disney)
was Busch Gardens 7yrs ago for our 1yr anniversary.

The Whole Group before we left to go home.

We like to call this "Jazz Hands"

DC Zoo 2010

Last Sat Kenn, B and I took our annual trip to the DC Zoo!
It was beautiful out! For the first time ever we drove instead of taking the metro.
It was super easy and way better then the metro!
My favorite part of driving was that you park half way down the zoo
so you begin the day walking up the hill and work your way down,
instead of walking down and at the end of the day when its
the hottest and your tired having to walk ALL the way back to the top to the metro.

So the first thing we did was go see my favorite animal the panda :)
We walked outside and could see one of them way at the top
(basically just his rear) so kenn suggested we go inside and
we found the other panda playing with a ball

Then after we went back outside and the other one had moved
so at least you could see his better side.
I want to take him home!

Then we walked down and saw the zebra's and gazelle

Went to the small animal house where b got to touch the shell of a armadillo
We walked around the gorilla house and got to see a really amazing
sight of a mommy and her baby. They were pretty active.

The elephant house was closed but they had 2 of their elephants outside
with the trainers doing tricks. Which you normally don't get to see
Below it was putting its foot up for them .

Then the trainer had her sit down, then lay down

she was very sweet.

Then we went to the reptile house where kenn came up with the game
of finding the animals on the exhibit picture.
Below is b with the diamondback rattlesnake.

Turtles

Finding the colored tree frogs

B was most excited to see the lions and tigers

Then it was playtime at the children's pizza area

He would stack the mushrooms

and use them to get on top of the tomatoe

We completed the trip with some ice cream and then got stuck in bad DC traffic.
That part wasn't great, but we think we have a different GPS route next time.
Overall one of the less crowded, most perfect weather, easy zoo trips!

Happy Mother's Day!

Our Mother's Before Children

Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine

Little one, when you play
Don't you mind what they say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine

If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for the right to hold you

From your head down to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows
But you're so precious to me
Sure as can be, baby of mine

We couldn't be the parents we are today without such good examples
Our love always,

Heather & Kenn & Brandon

A Day Out With Thomas

For Brandon's Birthday my parents gave the 3 of us tickets to see Thomas
at the B&O museum. It is a huge deal, the tickets were bought
the beginning of Feb and he's only here for 2 weekends.
We got early train ride tickets so we showed up about 9:30 AM
which was actually perfect b/c it wasn't too hot yet and there weren't many people.

The first thing we saw was a surprise!
It was Rory!
(which is B's favorite show on Sprout)

Then we met with Sir Topham hat.
(which b wasn't too excited about but i conned him into it)

Then we got to see Thomas!!!

They had lots of activities set up.
B had the bounce house all to himself.
(like i said it was awesome going early)
Ringing the bell on the wooden train

They even had a little train ride that B did all on his own. (twice!!)

They had people making balloon animals and things.
B got 2 balloon airplanes.
(the first i popped, the second he popped)
B & the plane prior to 2nd popping

Daddy & B driving a train

Then we got to go ride in Thomas's cars

B loves giving the conductor the tickets
relaxing on the ride
on the way out B gave Rory a hug goodbye :)

I never in my life imagined I'd have a son that would love to play with cars
and trains all day. (I've had zero interest in those things)
But I absolutely had a fantastic time as always with him.

I always love supporting his interests, and luckily he is very well rounded!
