Brandon had his 2yr Dr's appt yesterday, and he did pretty good. totally fine with the nurse, he is 35inches @ 75% and 29lbs @ 60%. After she left he got dressed, and then asked for his coat so I put it on him, and then he expected to leave the room. After I told him we had to stay he cried. So I did the normal office room stuff to keep him busy when i realized they had glow in the dark stars on one of the cabinets. so i turned off the lights so he could see the stars, so until the Dr came in, he just turned on and off the light switch saying "dark" "light".
Dr.Schaeffer came in and did the exam, he's doing great on all of his developmental things, he's still not eating veggies and the Dr told me we need to reduce his milk to 16oz a day b/c he can become anemic. So i'm off to introduce some more juices.
During the exam brandon's laying on the table and he just leans his hands behind his head (where your elbows are pointing out) and he looked like an adult that was laying on a hammock. It was freaking adorable. so she listened to his chest and he just acted as cool as can be like "yeah im just hanging out without my shirt on, i'm cool". It was too funny.
So no shots, i have to take him to get blood work at some point for Lead. Everything went well. He still has a little cold from the croup, but the Dr said thats normal. Even though its 30/40 degrees outside he still wants to go outside to play as soon as he gets home from daycare, so spring cant come fast enough for us. He may not be cold out there but *I'm* cold.
Yes i still need to put up his birthday pictures... Just trying to catch up on all of my work in the office, and then next week we have a national sales meeting so i'll be swamped then (plus 3 nights out with work dinners) And on top of that they are hiring a new rep in Texas that will be my outside partner so i will need to train them in addition to normal work. But wouldn't give it to me if they didnt think I could do it. (only one other inside rep has to do this too) So i look at it as job security. (although that sentence is non existent these days)
This weekend I am going out with some girlfriends friday night (amy is visiting from tx) and then sat morning after gym class my mother, james and nicole (his g/f) are taking brandon to the science center to play.
and although there was a split second scare this morning with the amsterdam plane crash, i'm happy to know my dad will be back home sat night. (he was in amsterdam this week) I know B deff misses him!
Brandon officially started the two's class this week. He started the week with not separating well from me in the AM, but today ran right to the table for his oatmeal. I think the separation issue also had to do with me leaving last week. So although its a normal 2 thing, i'm hoping that will end quickly, b/c we are hoping to try to wean him from his thumb sucking soon. (i wanted to wait until he's comfortable at daycare first). He also has MORE pictures next week, these are the segal majestic type ones that they do 2 times a year.
Have a great weekend, and happy Ash Wednesday! (ash weds was the day brandon was actually born on 2yrs ago, i went to church at 6:30am to get the ashes that morning!)

Happy Birthday B!
Well yesterday was Brandon's 2nd birthday. Its funny how two years can go by so fast. He is an absolute joy to have for a son and there hasnt been a day that i mind getting up to see that face (yes, even in those first 2 months of midnight feedings i really never minded)
I made a video of the last two years of b's life :) I hope you enjoy it!

I got back from Vegas Thursday evening, I had a good time even though 80% of it was working. I got to stay at the Mandalay Bay, which was beautiful and I even got a chance to go see the Beatles "Love" by Cirque du soleil. This was the first Cirque du soleil i've ever seen and it was fantastic. I would see it again in a heartbeat. The convention went great but i'm glad to be back home.

The view from my room of the strip. I tried to take one at night but it didnt really work. But the view was awesome.
The Hallway to my room (way at the end) that reminded me of the shinning every time i walked down it.
the "Beatles Bar" at the Mirage, the inside had nothing to do with the Beatles.
Pictures from the party will be up soon :)

We've had a lot going on (as usual) last week we went to Disney on Ice with my mother, kenn and Aunt Gail and Brandon had a good time. he really liked the haunted mansion part of the show. The Cannon part not so much.
Brandon is really enjoying Rollie Pollie Gym class, he runs around and does tumbles like crazy (he tries to do them at home frequently also)
I found out on Monday that I would be going to the Vegas Conference for work THIS sunday. I went to this conference when i was first hired, and i really wanted Kenn to go but on such short notice and without having a lot of vacation time with his job he couldn't. So its bittersweet about going.
We had a big day planned for Valentine's Day tomorrow, until last night... Last night a 10pm Kenn went upstairs to take a shower and called me in a panic. I came upstairs and he had brandon in his arms not able to catch his breath. Brandon had cold like symptoms the last 2 days or so but never had issues breathing so we went to nighttime pediatrics and found out that he has Croup and a mild pink eye infection.
CROUP:
Croup is characterized by a loud cough that may sound like the barking of a seal and may be accompanied by fast or difficult breathing and sometimes a grunting noise or wheezing while breathing.
At first, a child may have cold symptoms like a stuffy or runny nose for a few days and may also have fever. As the upper airway (the lining of the windpipe and the voice box) becomes progressively inflamed and swollen, the child may become hoarse, with a harsh, barking cough.
If the upper airway becomes swollen to the point where it is partially blocked off, it becomes even more difficult for a child to breathe. This happens with severe croup. With severe croup, there may be a high-pitched or squeaking noise when breathing in (this is called stridor). A child will tend to breathe very fast, and the stomach or the skin between the ribs may seem to pull in during breathing since he or she is working hard to get air in to the lungs. The child may also appear pale or bluish around the mouth from not getting enough oxygen. These are signs that a child needs immediate medical attention.
Symptoms of croup often worsen at night and when the child is upset or crying. In addition to the effects on the upper airway, the infections that cause croup can result in inflammation further down the airway, including the bronchi (breathing tubes) and the lungs.
The Dr said his lungs sounded great, so since its a Virus we are not able to give him an antibiotic and just have to wait it out (3-5days). SO we have to have him take a steroid to help him breathe. The Dr also told us that if we caught it early and that if we hadn't done anything he would have had it double or triple as bad tonight and tomorrow night and deff would have had to go to the ER. So that was scary. So no Aquarium tomorrow :( Luckily daycare was already closed to kids Monday so my mom was already planning on taking care of him that day.
I'm just happy it happened while i was still here and not while kenn was alone with him.
We have lots of pictures to put up from gym class and one of the 2 pictures we ordered from the daycare photographer that came the other day.
I hope everyone has a great valentines day!
