8th Anniversary!

8 Years ago today I walked down the aisle to meet the man I knew I was meant to be with
for the rest of my life.

To celebrate last weekend we went to NYC.
This was the first time we've driven up there.
(Normally its bus or train)
On the way up we only listened to albums that we used to play while dating.

These are pics going into NYC. I believe this is the Brooklyn Bridge
Above is ON the bridge, below is the bridge after we got off

We stayed in Long Island City, which was only like 3 miles outside of NYC.
(Saved us like 200bucks) so we checked in and took the train in.
First we went to Central Park

Then we went to John Lennon's Strawberry fields
(its in Central park, across the street from where he was shot)

Then we walked to the Metropolitan museum of Art.
On the way there was a German Parade.
I think this was the first "real" parade i've seen.
(besides local ones)
It reminded me a lot of Ferris B's day off

Inside the Met we ate at the Wine bar and walked around.
Below is a beautiful choir screen from the Cathedral of Valladoid.
Completed in 1763, its 52 x 42 feet tall.

And my favorite part was the Vincent Van Gogh Paintings
Below is "Irises" and "Cypresses"

The two of us outside the Met

Then we caught the train to Time square.

below shows the NYE ball
Then we had a fantastic dinner at Angus McIndoe,
then on to the American Idiot Musical at the St.James Theatre

We finished off the great night back in Time square doing some shopping.

The Next day we had breakfast and then got back up to go back into the city.
Below is the view from our hotel walking to the subway.
(which we got very efficient about using)
It was Sunday morning so it was BEAUTIFUL hearing the church bells going off.
Below is my favorite Church St. Patrick's.

Inside the church.
Mass was going on, but it was halfway over by the time we got there.

Then we walked up 5th Ave, and to FAO Schwartz where we did a little
Christmas shopping for B.

The panda REALLY wanted me to take him home.
Kenn said no.

Then we went back to the hotel got the car and headed home.
On the way home the GPS decided it was quicker to route me through the City.
I was driving Since the NFL game was on, so he had his phone hooked up to it.

Kenn took the moment to document our trip through the city with my camera.

Below is driving through time square

After the Tunnel... Good-Bye NY!
The trip deff wasn't long enough!!!
It's been 9 years since we had been there last.
We deff plan on going more frequently!

Tonight we went out to Dinner & did our annual "night of 2 desserts"
(one at the restaurant and Ben & Jerrys to take home)
If thats not Romance I don't know what is!

two new quotes of the last week

As brandon is getting ready for bed we are doing his "night night prayer"
and during it we say goodnight to the grandparents etc.
so it was My mother in laws birthday that night so during it i said
"and happy birthday to Nan"
Brandon said "why did you tell God that"?
so i explained that God loves Nan and gave us Nan and all the grandparents.
Then that God gave Kenn and Myself to Brandon.
So he asked "Did god make me"?
And I said "oh yes God made you very special for Daddy and Me"
brandon then said smiling "Oh God is so NICE"!!!
It was super sweet

So tonight was late night at school and kenn and I got to go out to dinner with
another couple. When we picked him up I asked him what they had for dinner
brandon- "Chicken nuggets and green beans"
myself- "did you eat your green beans"
Brandon- "No, I'm allergic"

B is now an Official "Big Boy"

A month or two ago Kenn showed me a new trick.
If B stretches out he can touch his fingers at the top of the toddler bed
and this toes at the bottom of his bed... so meaning
"We're gonna need a bigger bed"
(Jaws quote is implied here)

B in all his glory with his Twin size bed and new sports themed room

I also wanted to randomly throw in his Newest, must take everywhere friend.
Above you see Diego the Bear from Build-A-Bear.
Last Sat we went back with Tim/Teresa/Olivia and the kids made
Sanrio Stuffed animals.
Aka: Hello Kitty and Choco Cat
(I was MORE then thrilled)
so now he must drag with him in the AM
Diego the Bear
Stuffed Soccer ball (matching one he gave to Connor)
"Mocha" the cat
(he was named after our cat and wears sports PJs)
Occasionally he also brings his new "Bumblebee Pillow Pet"
Yes marketing on the sprout channel is alive and well.
(thats the yellow pillow he is using in the bedroom pix)

Lets see what else is happening. This week B started the Preschool
curriculum at school and today was his first day of soccer practice.
It was 95 Degrees out but he listened REALLY well to the coaches
and ran all over the place. (half the team didn't do anything)
Once kenn gets the pictures of his camera i'll post some.
Sunday is his first "game"....
we'll see how that goes

August 2010

Wow I can't believe its September already!
I figured I better get this thing updated before life REALLY gets busy.
(Fall is always the busiest time for us)

Back in August My Mother in law, my Niece Olivia, B and I
spent the day at Clarkland Farms.
B and I haven't been there in a couple years so we had a semi cool day and went.
(for those who aren't familiar its a petting zoo and
a restoration place for all the Enchanted Forest Park items)
I really need to scan the pictures of my mother and myself as a children there.

Olivia and Brandon on a Mushroom
(B liked the Yellow spots)
Willie the Whale who I have pictures sitting on...

B's favorite part of the day, going down the slides
(this was the old women who lived in a shoe slide)
This is him at the very top of the Rainbow slide.
Then we went to the petting zoo

The Mother Goose Slide
Then he ran back to the shoe slide again.
Well i guess literally he is walking... but he kept bugging me during the petting zoo
to go back to the "shoe slide"

Hugging the Candy Cane

The grand resistance the Mouse/Cheese slide
